The Challenge
For many years, BH Live managed their Physical Activity Referral Scheme (PARS) using a paper-based system, which was outdated and difficult to manage.

About BH Live
Charitable trust and a social enterprise BH Live operates leisure facilities, sports facilities, attractions and event venues across Portsmouth, Southampton, Croydon, Bournemouth and East Dorset.
Their mission is to encourage more active communities and improve health and wellbeing through increased participation in physical activity and cultural events.
The challenge
Vivienne Galpin, Health and Wellbeing Manager, manages the charity’s exercise referral scheme in Dorset to help people living with a long-term health condition, or those who are recovering from injury, into exercise.
Viv also works with funding partners such as Sport England, Parkinsons UK and the NHS to secure funding for health referral activities. Examples include cancer rehabilitation, swimming during pregnancy and a physical activity referral scheme (PARS).
BH Live has been piloting ReferAll’s management system. Vivienne says:
“For many years, we managed our PARS using a paper-based system, which was outdated and challenging to manage. ReferAll was identified as a possible solution and after speaking to other operators about their overwhelmingly positive experiences with the platform. Many said it transformed the way they worked. Encouraged by their insights, BH Live decided to pilot ReferAll ourselves to see if we could achieve the same benefits. Looking back, it was a great decision.”
The Solution
BH Live now uses ReferAll to accept and process referrals, book appointments and record assessment outcomes.

“We can see where clients are in their referral journey, which helps us deliver a more seamless and consistent experience. Importantly, moving to a digital solution has strengthened how we protect client information and confidentiality, ensuring sensitive client information is stored and managed in line with best practices.”
