In our new meet the team blog series, we get to know some of the people who make ReferAll tick…

Ruth-Anne, Key Account Manager working hard in the ReferAll HO

Name: Ruth-Anne Hurst
Job title: Key Account Manager

How long have you been working with ReferAll? I’m quite new to the company, I’ve been with ReferAll for five months now.

Tell us about the job you do for ReferAll and what you’re responsible for…
As the key account manager at ReferAll, I support customers in using our software to manage their Physical Activity Referral (PARS) and wellbeing schemes. This involves regular discussions with our clients to track the progress of projects and chat about future goals for our partnerships. I also carry out site visits to learn how health and wellbeing programmes are run in different areas, to help inform our software development, as well as identify further opportunities to improve our partnerships.

What does a typical day look like for you?
I work closely with our support team to answer customer queries, problem solve and further develop our client partnerships. I enjoy developing meaningful relationships with customers, especially working on larger projects to help them get the most out of our software and reduce the admin burden for their teams. It’s great to know that the work we’re doing at ReferAll HQ means our customers have more time to do the great work of running PARS, which help people to be more active and liver better lives.

What do you enjoy most about working for ReferAll?
The supportive, friendly atmosphere makes ReferAll a lovely place to work. It is a great feeling to know that the work we do really makes a difference to the end user. Our software helps to reduce the amount of admin that needs to be done by our customers' teams and therefore enables them to dedicate more time to helping participants improve their lives. We hear so many stories of how much participants value the support provided by our customers and about the sense of community their programmes create. It's very rewarding to know we’re a small part of that.

What was your favourite thing to do as a child?
Being outdoors with animals – horses, dogs, chickens, guinea pigs – a whole menagerie!

Tell us something about you that most people don’t know?
I’m a keen artist and love to paint. Wildlife is my usual subject matter, but I recently painted all the signs for my wedding!

What’s your go-to comfort food?
Cheese. Preferably cheddar but any cheese will do!

What’s your go-to thing to do when you want to relax?
Sports, the more the better! You'll usually find me swimming in the sea or at the rock-climbing gym. I spent all my childhood and teens horse riding in the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside; I would love to find the time to ride again.

If ReferAll had a mascot, what or who would it be and why?
ReferAll already has a mascot. Doris the dog is the Queen of the office!

What’s the weirdest thing on your desk right now? I don't have anything weird to be honest, I have a photo of my family, which is a nice thing!
